>>2593374I was fortunate to grow up on the edge of the lake district. Our town had a decent young population and enough activities to keep us happy and loads of community festivals every year. If you're young then you can join clubs or take up a sport like bouldering.
We spent alot of our teenage years chilling by the lakes and camping in fields but most of us took it for granted until we spent time away at University. The majority of our friend group is still in the area and have become more outdoorsy since we've matured.
I'm planning on settling permanently in the lakes or Snowdonia with my gf but we both love the quiet rural life and the close-nit community that comes with it... I find people in cities to be too indifferent to one another.
