>>273141>What do you spend lots of money on Vehicles. Fuel. Gear. In that order.
Spent over $10k on my sled, bike was about $5k.
I wear about $3000 in gear when i'm snowmobiling.
In the woods in the winter, almost everything I have can be classed as "survival gear" should something happen. Outerwear, obviously... same for protective gear, avalanche equipment, communications gear, etc.
>and what do you cheap out on?I do a lot of DIY fixes. Being an engineer I have the skills and tools to do the DIY fixes right, and because I have that, I've got a real hard time shelling out $$$ to aftermarket companies that build lower-quality stuff than what I can do on my own. 3D printer, small benchtop mill, Solidworks, and plenty of electrical and mechanical test/measurement equipment at my disposal.
Also do all my own labor... at $70-100 an hour shop rates, i'd much rather put that into tools and just do the work on my own. A sled or bike engine rebuild runs about $2k from a shop.
>Pic related, $50 in parts and a saturday in the garage got me a better air intake than the $200 products from other companies, and way better than the clusterfuck the sled came with from the factory.
