Hello /out/, this may be a more /k/ related post, if so, let me know, and I'll skedaddle on over there. If not, here goes.
I'm reaching a point in my life where I'm able to start buying guns for hunting, plinking, SHTF, and everything else. However, I don't want to be one of those guys that has 40 guns and shoots 7. I want every firearm in my collection to be used and have a purpose.
So I come to you with a specific question. I want no more than 3 rifles for all of my hunting needs, and one of them will be a .22lr.
So if I want 2 rifles for anything more than about 20 pounds, everything from coyotes to moose and everything in between, what should they be?
I was thinking .270 and .308, but that seems like a bit much for the smaller large mammals. What do you reccomend?
TL;DR - Suggest to me 2 rifles for hunting everything that a .22lr can't kill consistently and humanely
