This is my Spot™. It's on private family property, not near any trails or really near anywhere people might be slipping through the woods. Only me, my dad, and 2 friends know about this spot. It's been our spot for absolute years.

I love the first night of the year in a camping spot, or in a new spot, when the ground is still fresh and all the ferns and undergrowth surround you. I tend to use the same spot several times a year and after the first couple campouts it gets rather worn-in

It's nothing dramatic but this is my campsite in the family's back acres. I use it all year round, when I'm town anyway. I love it there, it's a good spot and carries memories all the way back to the 80s when my dad's logging road went through there and I'd stand in the back of the truck while he drove out to harvest trees and back.

I used this spot in the back acres for about 3 years, so it evolved quite a bit from all the use. Such wonderful memories. I haven't been back to it in almost 3 years now so it'll be completely overgrown, recovered, and reset. I look forward to visiting and camping out there again in October.

I know what you mean OP, it is pretty cool. It's the petrichor of vernal pools, the spring peepers chirping across the entire horizon, the fact that at night it gets cold again and almost feels like winter still, the feeling that the entire green and warm summer and autumn are still ahead of you. but every season has its magic, it's hard for me to choose just one.
