Going to go on a 3-day trip tomorrow. Area is the Colorado front range. The second day will have heavy rain, possible snow, and 15 mph winds. It'll get down to around 15 at the very lowest on the second night. I'd like to spend the first day building a shelter to help with this, I'll have a tarp, a hammock, sleeping bag, and a light foam pad. This thread has been great so far, but anybody have any tips or stories that might give some insight? This'll be my first trip with adverse weather, but I won't be far from town at all.
pic related, this'll be the general area, but a lot less snow.
