yeah it really chapped my dick and wasted so much goddamn money. I spent so much time trying to find cheaper candles that would work, like buying in bulk from aliexpress or church supply shops, going to junk shops in the city, etc. i couldn't get the cost per cc of candlewax below the UCO candles and I couldn't find any in bulk that had the right diameter. once I got my cold blast hurricane lantern and my little Coghlans™ brass tealight lantern I have been 100% happy ever since

I had the UCO original lantern and even bought TWO of the big UCO candeliers, shit cost a fortune but I wanted the UCO for light and the candelier for light and heat.

When they worked they worked great, but they kept failing catastrophically dumping hot wax all over my clothes, sleeping bag, table, floor, etc. I eventually gave up and threw them out.
