Who here has converted a fish finder to ice mode. I have a helix 7 (actually my father does I dont have a boat or money) that isnt used in the winter. I was thinking of buying an ice transducer and rigging up a battery. Anyone have any good apparatus to hook it up? I'd probably need to find a charging cord and an old 12 v battery ( I have an old snowmobile one lying around) just wondering if anyone has done any DIY stuff. My old "flasher" was a depth finder from the 90s that barely gave the right depth let alone tell you if a fish was there. The helix is amazing.
