I googled metolious area, looks lovely. Wish we had as much forest cover here. Unfortunately our native woodland has been reduced to small isolated patches, it is expanding slowly though.
We really need a mass deer cull but, too many people are opposed to it (PETA types and the sporting estates who own most of the land and profit from maintaining unnatural numbers of red deer).
Though it has to be said the barren hills do have their own unique aesthetic.
