>>1164245>>1164501>>1164584>>1164742Greetings fellow New Englanders. (Dunno where ADK is but Vermont is part of us) I'm the first Connecticut anon from this thread. For the sake of simplicity let's keep our planning focus oriented towards spring/summer. I see this thread shooting off in a million directions and if we want this to actually be successful there needs to be a singular focus. Future plannings and activities will be much easier to organize once we get the ball rolling. We might even want to make our own thread to be more organized. There is a lot to do /out/ here in New England and everything is within a day of driving from furthest point to furthest point of the region. It should make for easy planning.
So. What are the variables that should be looked at for this meetup? I think that we should try to accommodate as many of us as possible. To that end I feel we should pick a trail to hike and have a couple days at "basecamp" to allow everyone time to arrive. It would also allow those with less time available or whom are still lacking the gear or confidence for a full trail to join for at least a bit. Making the first meet up be in spring also makes allowance for those (like me) without a set of good winter gear. Depending where people hail frokm we can pick a central point and go from there. Thoughts? Comments? Questions? Suggestions? Should we start a new thread for us New Englanders?
