Luckily still got my job but hereabouts restaurants, village fests etc. will be shut down until at least November I guess, so more free time to be spent on the garden.

Then they can sprout and grow a little until Nov/Dec, soak up all the following winter rain while vegetative growth is slowed down (I assume they grow more roots then), so that in March/April they can shoot up more and endure our ever more common spring/early summer droughts more easily. Harvest is around July when about half the foliage will have yellowed. Maybe this method doesn't work in cooler zones with severe winter frosts, but here (8a, last years have been rather 8b/9a - hasn't dropped below -5°C/+23°F past winter) I found this method to be the most reliable
