>>2442074Think about whether you want to use other tools from the brand. Tbqhwy, Ryobi is awesome for homeowners. They have a huge selection and there’s 2-3 tiers of most 18V tools, the cheap one, the mid range, and the better brushless HP which is 90% as good as the more expensive Milwaukee or Makita or DeWalt. I have some Ryobi, the father in law has a bunch, a few boomer neighbors have it, no complaints at all.
Ryobi is cheaper for the batteries too just because of the name. And if you need a different DIYer tool like maybe a cordless sander or router that you’re only going to use once a year, if you’re stuck on Milwaukee batteries, you will have to pay $150+ for that bare tool. It you go Ryobi, you can get their model for <$100 and it will be more than enough for the one or two jobs a year. And if it’s a main tool you will use every other weekend like a cordless drill, get the Ryobi HP.
Ryobi has tons of other cool 18V household things the other brands don’t offer too, multiple types of vacuums, the fans are sweet, all sorts of lighting solutions, and the Makita or Milwaukee light will be >$100 and the 10” Milwaukee fan is $90 while the Ryobi version is nearly the same thing with the same build quality for $30-$40 because it’s lime green and Milwaukee needs to price everything they offer for their “pro” market segment.
