>>1743724I usually get rhode island reds. This year I got a mix. Easter egger, amarcanas, laced winged whatevers, etc. I didnt get any super eggs layer like leghorns because they burn out a few years earlier than general purpose birds and I dont usually butcher my egg girls.
The ducks are pekin and khaki campbells. Im trying ducks out so I got half for meat (the pekin) and half for eggs. The supposedly lay all winter. Chickens dry up when the days get short and my wife eats 3 to 6 eggs a day by herself.
