>>1187721>yes. the gloves are important to keep you and the patient safe (in case of bleeding): you are safe from infections your patient might have and he is safer because you're not treating him with hands covered in dirt. so, yes, i carry always two pairs, you don't know when you could use one.Pic related is what those gloves you've had stored in your kit for months to years for multiple outings will look like when you finally don them the first time to treat a boo-boo.
Latex/nitrile gloves are next to worthless in an outdoor type FA kit. Not only is storing them, even as single use items, going to wear them down and make them brittle and easily torn, they're also not tough enough for /out/ type medical care anyway. Not helpful out there either...A little blood or whatever on your hands is not going to give you teh AIDs. Latex gloves are for healthcare workers in offices and hospitals who go through hundreds of them per day as a barrier from hundreds of people from the general public who can have god knows what kinds of microbes on them- or who could have compromised immune systems. I don't bother carrying gloves other than my plainsmen leather work gloves and mechanix work gloves, neither should anyone else. If I need to suture outdoors which I have, rinsed off bare hands are fine.
