Purchase some Renaissance wax and use a fine cloth to rub the wax into the wood furniture. Don't store the rifle in a gun case, especially a cloth gun case, as this traps moisture inside. Keep it in the safe with silica gel packets to absorb humidity, or hang it on a rack on the wall. Before going /out/, apply a new coat of Barricade to the exterior metal parts of the rifle. If the rifle gets rained on, wipe every part of it dry with a towel, then apply more Barricade, inside and out. Clean thoroughly if you fire it, as burnt gun powder can absorb moisture and trap it in the barrel.
>>2192673The K31 I handled is smoother than my Steyr-Mannlicher M95 straight pull, but the two smoothest bolt-actions I've ever handled were a Krag carbine and a Gibbs Quest Extreme II rifle, which is an Ishapore Lee-Enfield No.1 MkIII in .308 converted into a Jungle Carbine, nickel plated, and given a custom stock by Gibbs back in the day.
