Imagined beasts aside, I did hear more than one moose or elk wandering within 50 feet of my tent. Pretty freaky when you can actually tell how large an animal is by the weigh of the thump of their footsteps, and how far apart in time they are and what that says about the length of their gait. Morning did come, though, and I survived the night in spite of the wendingos and other spirit-walkers.
