It was tricky, I missed-out by a couple weeks the first year and was way too busy to notice the ferns sprouting the second year. Kind of just gave up. but now that you've asked I'm kinda thinking I should try get on it and try again.
Also, double check and try to find info about various species in case one of them isn't edible or has nasty irritating hairs or some shit like that.
