good examples are haglöfs and fjällräven.
pure cotton are annoying when wet, but said polyester-cotton mixes dry fast and doesn't get too cold when wet.
OT:
fjällräven, haglöfs are some good brands, at least when it comes to pants.
i use my work pants as well, same fabric mix as the other two, but thicker so they take even more abuse then my vidda.

anyhow my favorite /out/door pants are fjällräven vidda.
