When i was a kid found a nest of them in a hollowed out wild black cherry tree. When they got bigger and started leaving the nest I grabbed a couple for pets - they were an absolute blast. They would sail & glide all over the fuking house - had a cathedral ceiling . Land on you head & all kinda kra shit.
Good memory of my early teens. Then i let them go. They just lived in the forest around the house.
Owls are a big predator to them , too - fyi
