well I seem to be the only one here but I went with a deuter bag after thinking it through earlier in the year. Specifically the Deuter rise pro which is a 34L that extends to about 42L mountaineering pack apparently. Of the kinds I tried I only felt like Mammut and Deuter were really comfortable for me. The Mammuts were pretty basic but the deuter rise series had lots of attachment points and were pretty versatile and well made. I went with the smaller pro because you can open it at the back to get at whatever without totally unloading the thing. Size is a tad small but most of my gear is pretty compact. I'd say it's good for a weekend trip comfortably. It also has that internal rubberized coating which I also liked. Everything about the bags just said to me well made. The rise tour 45+ was also in the running but I got the pro for a decent price. It ended up being a just big enough size though for my needs.
