Has anyone found a way to avoid condensation when tarp camping (that isn't lighting a fire)? I prefer the space and pitching options over my tent, but I find my gear is always a little wet in the mornings. When I'm hiking for extended periods it becomes a problem because I have to spend a lot of time drying my gear during the day. Are there better and worse pitches for this?
FWIW I live in New Zealand, where autumn/winter nights are always below dew point but rarely so cold it snows.
Pic semi-related, it's been my open ground pitch of choice lately.
