>>1640608I'm not at all a skier, but I am a forester and can't stop working when the snow gets too deep to walk in. I got some of these Altai Hok short skis for working last winter in the woods at the suggestion of another forester. They're short and wide and have climbing skins built into the bottom plus they've got ratcheting bindings so I didn't have to buy any new boots.
Needless to say, I'm never using snow shoes again. These things kick ass mobbing around in thick forests and climbing over shit. Having never skied before it only took a day or two before I got the hang of it.
