>>1194728The boat's rated for class II rapids, so it can handle a boat wake or a bit of chop, especially with a splash deck or spray skirt. How dicey you feel in waves depends on your experience though, so I'd get used to it on flat water first.
I've practiced capsizing mine and while you can't roll it, it's not that hard to right by hand and I found a rear deck re-entry wasn't too hard. If you swamp it in the surf it won't sink but you still need to bail it out.
If you do get one, I'd get the "backbone" as well (it's a 4-piece metal pole that fits in the bottom and helps with tracking and rigidity).
