I was able to make a little 20 feet shed where I currently live in using scrap wood I found on Craigslist for free and buying some wood at Home Depot as well. It's not much but it only cost me around $500 total and gave me some experience in carpentry so I'm confident enough to rebuild that ruined house to make it livable. Also there's enough wood there to rebuild the house so I'll just take it apart when I leave.
