My first tip is for Oregon and Washington stay on the East side of the Cascades. I'll just start from NW and go CCW with some suggestions. This is near North Cascades National Park. Great hiking there, almost no people, everything is hike-in. The Blue Lake hike was great. I camped East of the park, tons of options.

Thought I'd share some pics I took over the last two weeks on my overland expedition through the PNW, or as it it used to be known years ago a "camping trip."
