So I have a lot of my tobacco jarred up. If I want to cellar my tobacco, I put it in mason jars instead of leaving it in the tin. However, there are a few tobaccos that smell and taste better from the tin as opposed to being jarred. One of the most noticeable examples is Plum Pudding. In the jar, it tastes and smells too virginia dominant and quite boring. In the tin, it’s quite smoky, sweet, savory, and tangy. I actually took some Plum Pudding out of the jar and placed it back in its original tin to test this, and sure enough it smells and tastes better now. Anybody else notice this about certain tobaccos? Is it because it’s dryer in an opened tin as opposed to a sealed jar?
