Also a concept that was practiced in this cemetery is Damnatio Memoriae.
Its latin for Damned by Memory though it was coined by the Romans it was a concept that started with the Ancient Egyptians who believed that to die and have nothing of the person preserved is the worst possible fate.
It is the practice of defacing, erasing or vandalizing the graves and/or records of someone as punishment for wrong doing.
