Also the more regular you chum a spot the better for you. If you constantly fish the same spot, and chum in the same spot on a regular schedule the fish will learn it. Carp is big fucking goldfish, they will literally turn into pets. They'll get used to you feeding them and will make your spot a regular place to visit in their cycle. They'll stop associating shit hitting the water as a threat, and start associating it with food. Then recasting will stop scaring fish away. You'll also have better fishing in that spot for other species too. Literally everything loves bread and corn. Bluegills and minnows love eating bread and corn. Catfish love bread and corn, and eating bluegilles and minnows. Bass and crappie don't eat bread and corn, but they sure eat the bluegills and minnows eating the corn!
