>>1485838>Chernobyl happenedRunaway fission, soviet incompetency and a culture of retribution of anyone raised complaints.
Not a condemnation of nuclear plant design.
>Fukushima happenedOutdated design, few fail safes (and the ones that were in place failed). Incompetency on
>It also scared the country so much no new reactors were built for 30+ years. Because the masses are brainlets who cannot understand the operating principles behind nuclear plants, or how fission works. NPCs saying NUCLEAR = BAD!
Also, oil and coal ran a massive smear campaign against their competitor, nuclear, which they still do to this day because its the only viable competitor in terms of cost to the consumer. Renewables will always be a meme, which is why they do not receive the same scathing treatment nuclear did despite being even worse for the enviroment.
>we came pretty close to a major disasterNo, we didn't.
>which is too close for most people. Who are not qualified to have an opinion because their midwits at best and double digiters at worst.
>Minimizing those incidents instead of admitting the catastrophic consequences of them makes people tune you out. You are your own worst enemy because you handle criticism like the autists that you areThe one who cannot handle criticism is you. You make non-arguments because you cannot understand the technology and fallaciously attribute the events that did happen to the totality of using nuclear power in the first place. You are a fool professing himself to be wise.
