Catnip and cilantro have germinated, getting leggy as fuck though. Don't know how to stop it and there's a mildew smell and white fuzzy shit all over some of the catnip roots. I've taken the cover off and just spritz it with a spraybottle every few days or so, seems to work well enough.
When should I move the seedlings to new pots? It seems early but the packets say 1 inch tall is the cutoff and the cilantro is easily 2-3 inches. They're no doubt stretching because I have them under LEDs that were suspended high above when they sprouted; I've since moved the shop light much closer but now they stretch for the westward window during off hours and I don't have blackout curtains. I have the lights set up to go from 6pm to 8am, should I start shifting the cycle or do plants not have significant circadian rhythms? I'm also concerned because the same seedlings seem to be showing up in the wrong columns and I think this might be because I recycled some of the soil from when the dog knocked over the tray last time.
I started everything on the 22nd and the catnip is going exactly the way it has gone for the last two tries. I'm actually surprised that the cilantro sprouted because the packets said it's a bad idea to start them indoors. Strawberries haven't sprouted yet either but I have some lemongrass and possibly thyme and basil breaking ground. Spearmint, parsley, and mint have yet to show any signs of germination (I'm almost certain that the spearmint column is growing catnip because only one cell is sprouting and it looks identical to the nip).
