I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on financing a new pontoon boat. It's a brand new 20' Fishing Barge from Sun Tracker with a 60hp outboard. It's slow but it's more room than my current 12' jon boat with 15hp.
Plan on rigging it up for catfish and carp in the big rivers and keep my jon boat for bass in lakes.
It's gonna cost me about $240 a month though in payments for the next 10 years. Not really a burden but still, that's $240. Not to mention the extra cost of getting it ready for fishing. Fish finder, rod holders, lights, etc.
Should I do it? I love catfishing but taking my 12' jon boat out on the James/Potomac River can be scary at times.
