They fetishize and trivialize something that takes the average person years to save and prepare for. Some of them have sponsors and are just shilling shit. Some have mommy & daddy's money. Some are just flat out rich and acting like they are grassroots people. Anything under a false pretense makes me sick.
what makes me laugh is the female simp channels that pretend like they're solo, strong independent woman but their bf is clearly behind the camera and is with them the whole time. Can't say it's not a clever money making scheme, but it's still a scheme.
I've found some videos that feel genuine on youtube, but this one stuck out to me. Just a normal dude with a normal savings account doing a trip that he planned for years. He's wearing budget gear and riding a budget bike. He shows every miserable moment of the trip, his bike breaking down, etc. And this video is more enticing to me than the fake shit.
