The k-50 is pretty much the only one in its price segment, to our knowledge anyway.
And its clearly the only thats rated to take a fucking spear and a 4m drop onto concrete while you skydive through sand dunes in a thunderstorm.
Especially for /out/ a camera is not about the "most scientifically perfect" sensor, but rather how much it impairs your ability to traverse and if it will endure a hundreds miles and a hundred more.
The Sonys are good cameras, cheap too. Their video function is very good (for the money anyway) but they constantly overheat and are made from frickly plastic. Water proof? What?
/out/ists have special needs when it comes to their gear. I left mine in the rain while I went to sleep in my tent multiple times
