48's are intermodal cars, thus named because there is 48 feet of space in one (as opposed to 53's or 40's). A container is lowered into the hold by a crane and fastened in place. These are the same containers that go on a truck or a ship. These are higher priority and will get you where you're going faster. Some 48's are ridable some are not. Basically some only have partial floors. Riding these is called "riding suicide" and if the terminology isn't enough to dissuade you, allow me: DON'T FUCKING RIDE THESE despite the fact that other idiots do. You can spot which is which from a distance but for reasons already stated you're not getting a tutorial here and the internet is not a safe place to learn these things. Find someone who knows the difference and have them show you.
