I went wildly off route on lwbf, started heading up into uncharted territory, the wall was covered in lichen and the ledges were grassy, with a few cinder block sized loose rocks. I basically reached a dead end about 10' from my last good piece of pro. Came perilously close to burning out but managed to place a very tipped out cam and take a breather. One thing going off route at the gunks has taught me so far is the art of down climbing, in getting pretty good at tactical retreats.
Grading here seems pretty inconsistent, 5.5's can feel like 5.7's, and 5.7's can feel like 5.5's.
