Same shape as USGI poncho, but insulated. The uses are endless.

Thermarest Zlite is nice, one of the best picks in regard to price/performance for foam/non-inflatable pads. Don't expect too much comfort, but it will carry you through a lot. I've slept on it during harsh winter and if you add some extra padding (leaves, evergreen branches, etc.) underneath, it can be done. Not particularly comfy (you need inflatable for that) but for the price it is awesome.
