I recently got my first compound bow (Edge SB-1) and it came from the factory set at 49lbs. I bought arrows for this draw weight and my draw length is 29.5" meaning my arrow length should be 30.5".
What confuses me is that my bow can go up to 70lbs but even if I get arrows rated for 65-80lbs the chart says I shouldn't go higher than 61-66lbs.
What would happen if I shot them at 70lbs?
Also is having a 29.5" draw going to hold me back? I've seen guys on YouTube shooting 27" draw with 80lbs, yet I'm being encouraged to not exceed 66lbs.
Does having heavier arrows since they're longer compensate for less energy?
