>>1780658yeah I looked into that, I use the paraffin wax rather than the bees wax but I crunched the numbers and time vs. materials didn't seem worth it for me. I also raided the internet for cheep chinée candles trying to find one that would fit the tube and couldn't get it cheaper than the UCO ones.
But really, the problem is the spring blowout that happens 1 in 10 times, the wax dripping from the roof would ruin my sleeping bag or blankets and whatnot. I still use it but don't hang it over me, I just hang the little Coghlan's brass lantern inside with tealights, which are cheep as chips and don't drip until you completely spill the lantern somehow
