I gave them some calcium and magnesium supplements as soon as I noticed it, but the damage has already been done. I had to throw away about a bucket of unripe tomatoes. My hopes now rest on the younger tomato clusters remaining and also the few cherry varieties I'm growing.

It's practically a must to shield your tomatoes or you'll get blight sooner or later. I built a shelter with some wood and polycarbonate that works great in preventing blight (blightfree for 3 years) but it does make me plant my tomatoes in the same spot a few years in a row, hence the nutrient-problems. It'll get moved once this years crop has been harvested.
