They will make your neck hurt, but the shape of your hello kitty choice is actually pretty ok. You shouldnt be going fast enough to really need the wind tunnel tested shit for awhile. I like HJC helmets for budget options and fit to my head.
I wouldnt get too rattled about making sure its wind tested and stuff. you are early on and any bubble helmet should do till you get your feet under you. Motorcycling is not for everyone, but you do have your head in the right spot asking about helmets.
If you end up sticking with it, in a year or two you will probably want both a new bike and new gear, but other ppl can tell you all that.
