>>1931027Just finished my hunting safety course and will be getting my license shortly. Have a .22 and an AR15.
I'm interesting in getting started with small game and just zero'd in the scope on my 22. I was hoping to bag a few rabbits or squirrels. A few questions though that weren't covered in the course. Some of these might sound stupid but i've never been hunting before and have no one to go with.
>1. When hunting squirrels do you always wait for a backstop for your shot? Squirrels tend to obviously hang out in trees and ive seen videos of people plinking them out of the branches without anything behind them. Hunting course said this was a no go so I was curious what was going on there. >2.Do I just roll up to the parking location for the forest i'll be hunting in, pull out my gun and start walking down trails to find a spot? Just wondering where the boundary between open carry in public vs hunting begins and ends. 3. When hunting squirrels or rabbits do you find a spot and wait them out or be actively on the move?
Thanks fellas
