>>490170The number one way to tell real jungle boots from fakes is the stitching on the back. I'm pointing to it with my finger. Anyway if you know for a fact your pair is real, I have read stories or GI's claiming that the late 80's issue black jungle boots were pretty awful quality and fell apart easily so troops would continue to try to find earlier production green pairs instead. Maybe try some black kiwi wax polish to polish up the leather and hopefully reduce the cracking? Anyway I'm sure theres better /out/dooring boots out there like the Merrells and so on but for what I paid, jungle boots are everything I need. Save for steel toe requirements. 40 bucks got me boots that are still trucking over 2 years later vs 50+ dollars for a pair of converse that I would wear out in about a year
