If the libraries are ruined, the experts are nowhere to be found, and my field guide got eaten by wild pigs, how would i teach my children to find edible mushrooms?
What if i just lick the mushroom first? is there a shroom that can kill me in just one lick? then if i feel totally fine for the rest of the day, the next day i might nibble off a piece the size of my thumbnail and spit it out immediately. if i'm still just fine, next day i might have a nibble, chew for a second and spit etc. the other option is to catch a pig, feed it mushrooms and observe it, and that seems like a big hassle.
