>2 weeks ago, overnighter with a friend
>Staying in a forest hut in Estonia
>The hut is basically round in shape, with a fireplace and a metal chimney hanging over it
>No windows, so dark inside even during the day
>Evening was quiet and nice, away from civilization
>Get to the hut to sleep, block the door with a board so it can't be opened from the outside
>At night I use earplugs to block out the birds
>Morning comes (or so I think, still dark inside)
>Earplugs have escaped my ear canals, so hear everything

>Okay, drift off to sleep
>I am awakened by a metallic clang, like something was throw against our chimney
>Still dazed, I lay still and listen

>Suddenly a loud bang on the door
>My friend didn't wake up or react at all
>More footsteps and then a screech
>Another loud bang on the door
>Something was circling the hut, but boy was I glad we'd barricaded the door

>Asked him if he'd heard any of that
>'No'

>Nothing to be seen

Now I'm a newb in camping, started just this year, been out solo 3 times, with a buddy about 7. This was pretty spooky, even considering we were sleeping in a fucking fortress, log walls and everything. Still have no idea what was out there. I've heard every animal there is in my country, like this one time (again this year) we were pretty spooked by branches breaking constantly near our camp. The animal approached us at night and my friend told me in the morning it was probably a moose (heavy breathing, came very close). Anyway I digress.
