Not the best pic, I wasn’t able to catch it using soft plastic senkos. It looks cichlid like. Has a classic cichlid shape. About 12” long.
There were two pairs of these on either side of this canal. Each pair had a lighter colored fish like this pic with a dark one of the same species following it. Not sure if that means the males and females are visually different or coincidence.
Any recommendations to try and catch it?
Nearby I saw huge oscars, snook, small jack, and a tarpon. Not sure if that helps.
