I go barefoot in the summer. It is much easier to hunt if you're barefoot, you feel the earth better, etc. I like it.
In colder months, and when I have to walk through thick nettles and bushes I will wear anglo saxon turnshoes. You can still feel the earth but you won't get stung and won't get frostbite.
Don't go hiking a steep rocky mountain barefoot; You have to ready yourself for being barefoot. I am looking for a pair of boots that are light (I despise heavy boots and shoe) so i won't look like a reenactor walking around town in turnshoes or barefoot.
