This is the best example of grass I can find (bottom right).
Basically you want to focus on the structure and colour of a subject.
Your problem appears to be that you're trying to get the colour but you're not thinking about the structure.
You did a decent job of doing both on the bear, although the fur could be better. Although any form of hair is a nightmare to portray (usually it's best to try and form highlights then give them very thin alterations to emulate strands of hair reflecting light).
Also notice that the colour of the image I'm posting is very natural, no harsh colours. It's all soft browns which are true to what nature actuall produces. You can see that for the grass there are darker colours at the base of the tuft and light streaks towards the peaks to represent the spacing out and better define the blades of grass.
