I Always Thought Of Myself As A "City Kid" But I Grew Up In Suburbia

One year ago, wife & I moved out to the country. full on farm life. livestock, gardens, the lot of it. it's amazing. I was raised in a city. parents were poor/middle-class. single family house, almost 1 acre, in flyover country.
all homes in my neighborhood were 3 or 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, attached garage, mostly single story.
I always thought I was a city kid. I realize now I was raised suburban, which I think (based on TV & internet) is a TOTALLY different experience.
there was no crime. doors were unlocked. if you walked, or biked, it was because you wanted to. the only busses were yellow & rode to school... that you could also walk to.
my parents were "poor" despite living middle class. mum sewed (made) my clothes. we only ate at restaurants on special occasions. dad worked, mum did freelance social work, but was mostly stay-at-home until after I was out of primary.
I visited my dad's childhood farm 2.5 hours away, and also my great-uncle's working whear farm & cattle ranch during summers. in contrast I thought I lived "in the city".
