If you get all of the bells and whistles, are not to tall, know how to hang it right, know how to sleep not like banana. Then you can ascend to be a true comfy Caterpillar in the woods sneering on the plebs in tents and 40 dollar knock off chink tents. I'm getting second hand stuff to cut the cost. You can also do most of it your self. But if you get a $200-300 hammock, tarp, quilt for top/btm, comfy blanket or sleeping bag then it can beat a tent if you have trees. If not then you have the best God damn bivey tent ever. I'm getting a Noah kelty 16' tarp that you can fold the end in to make a true enclosed 'tent' so no one can disturb me becoming a butterfly.
