Recently they opened a Decathlon in my city, and they got a lot of discounts right now. My question is, is Quechua a good brand? I tried a few packs and they seemed decent enough to me, I'm thinking of getting a 40L pack for day trips and 1-2 nights. But it seems everyone differs on what pack size you need. I asked a ecotourism agency what pack sizes recommend and they say 30L for a day trip and 50L for anything beyond one night. The guys at Decathlon say 50L for a day trip and 60L for extended trips, and REI says 30-40L is enough for an overnight. This all leaves me confused as to what pack is good for short trips. I just want a size I can use for both day trips and overnights, that's all.
Also, tents and sleeping bags. I saw that most sleeping bags in Decathlon are too bulky, and I'd like to know if there's a workaround this. Anyone knows about the quality? And the tents, well, they have like 2 models available, and an "ultralight" one (pic related). I like that it packs small and is quite discreet, but I'm not sure about paying the extra bucks for lightweight yet delicate materials.
In conclusion, most of their gear is affordable, yeah, but very bulky and even a noob such as myself knows that's a problem.
