>>1701807Also, I'm used to camping just off some random forest road, deep in the mountains somewhere, as most of my time in the forest in recent years was forest survey work over a few years in the PNW where we would just camp wherever we were surveying, and were never in tourist trap 2 mile hikes, etc. areas, as we were surveying planned timber sales (the entire rest of the mountains).
That's what I plan in Denver too. I'll get some highway maps. Get some topo maps from the Forest Service. Learn different parts of the range, and hide from the tourists going out for short hikes, destructive mountain biking, and skiing. I'm coming for the wild, not trails, so I'll go where that is.
